Formerly known as the WaterWise program, the new and improved Water Conservation School Program, called H2O LAB!, provides water education resources and curriculum to 3rd through 6th grade classrooms in Fort Bend County at no cost to the teachers or students through sponsorships. Locally-based and TEKS-aligned lessons allow teachers to easily integrate the program into their classroom. Material and resources are available through the program’s secure, online web application where teachers have access to on-demand tutorials, downloadable digital lesson plans offered in multiple languages, and ability to track student activities and assessment data submitted through the online portal. Students also receive a free take-home Water Conservation Kit with products that can be used to save water at home.   

The goal of the program is to educate students to value water in our region, provide tools and resources to help families practice water-saving habits, as well as raise awareness about subsidence and ways to prevent it.

Your sponsorship will provide the water conservation school program to students in Fort Bend County and earn you groundwater credits in the process.

Partnering with FBSD and the award-winning Water Conservation School Program will not only provide students and teachers with the educational materials they need, but also will allow your organization to directly impact the preservation of freshwater sources in our area.

Interlocal agreements for cities and MUDs are sent out to participants in the summer. Please contact District staff if you would like establish an interlocal agreement for participation in the program.
